Each month The Associated Press honors photographers for outstanding coverage while on assignment. 

The winners of the June 2026 AP Photo Contest are:

Ariel Schalit for News Photography Single Image, for his photo of Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men protesting against military recruitment and calling for the release of detained draft resisters, near Kfar Yona, Israel.

Matias Delacroix for News Photography Story, for his coverage of the deadly Venezuela earthquakes.

Mindaugas Kulbis for Feature Photography Single Image, for his photo of a child cooling off in a public fountain in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Emilio Morenatti for Feature Photography Story, for his coverage of Pope Leo XIV's visit to Barcelona, Spain.

Zubair Abbasi for Sports Photography Single Image, for his photo of a player competing during the final polo match of the Shandur Polo Festival in Shandur Pass, in the Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan, northern Pakistan.

Leo Correa for Sports Photography Story, for a story on soccer in the West Bank.
