Each month The Associated Press honors photographers for outstanding coverage while on assignment.

The winners of the March 2026 AP Photo Contest are Seth Wenig for News Photography Single Image, for his photo of an Air Canada jet and Port Authority fire truck sitting on the runway at LaGuardia Airport after colliding with each other in New York.

Ariel Schalit for News Photography Story, for his coverage in Israel of the ongoing war in the Middle East between the US, Israel and Iran.

Vadim Ghirda for Feature Photography Single Image, for his photo of Muslims waiting before Eid al-Fitr prayers in a sports hall in Bucharest, Romania.

Emilio Morenatti for Feature Photography Story, for his coverage in Lebanon of the ongoing war in the Middle East between the US, Israel and Iran.

Matt Rourke for Sports Photography Single Image, for his photo UCF's Jamichael Stillwell battling for a rebound against UCLA's Steven Jamerson II and Brandon Williams during the first half in the first round of the NCAA college basketball tournament in Philadelphia.
