AP monthly photo contest

Each month The Associated Press honors photographers for outstanding coverage while on assignment.

The winners of the June 2025 AP Photo Contest are Jehad Alshrafi for News Photography Single Image, for his photo of Palestinians carrying sacks and boxes of food and humanitarian aid that was unloaded from a World Food Program convoy heading to Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip.

Oded Balilty for News Photography Story, for his coverage inside Israel of the war between Israel and Iran.

Andreea Alexandru for Feature Photography Single Image, for her photo of students at a dance school waiting outside Romania's Palace of Parliament during a series of events marking International Children's Day in Bucharest.

Emilio Morenatti for Feature Photography Story, for his coverage in Spain of the annual Catholic pilgrimage to the shrine of the Virgin of El Rocio, that draws hundreds of thousands of faithful.

Mark J. Terrill for Sports Photography Single Image, for his photo of New York Yankees’ Paul Goldschmidt breaking his bat as he grounds out during the seventh inning of a baseball game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Los Angeles.
