Each month The Associated Press honors photographers for outstanding coverage while on assignment. 

The winners of the July 2025 AP Photo Contest are Jehad Alshrafi for News Photography Single Image, for his photo of Hossam Azzam holding the body of his child, Amir, who was killed in an Israeli military airstrike on Gaza, at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

Julio Cortez for News Photography Story, for his coverage of the deadly flooding in central Texas.

Julia Demaree Nikhinson for Feature Photography Single Image, for her photo of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt fixing her dress collar before an interview with Fox News at the White House in Washington.

Aaron Favila for Feature Photography Story, for his coverage of a wedding in the flooded Barasoain church in Malolos, Bulacan province, Philippines following heavy rains.

Ng Han Guan for Sports Photography Single Image, for his photo of Dennis Gonzalez Boneu and Iris Tio Casas of Spain competing in the mixed duet free final of artistic swimming at the World Aquatics Championships, in Singapore.

Kirsty Wigglesworth for Sports Photography Story, for her coverage of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London
