Each month The Associated Press honors photographers for outstanding coverage while on assignment.
The winners of the March 2025 AP Photo Contest are Ng Han Guan for News Photography Single Image, for his photo of a Chinese military band conductor leading the band at the closing ceremony of the National People's Congress held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Alex Brandon for News Photography Story, for his coverage of U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem during a tour of the Terrorist Confinement Center in Tecoluca, El Salvador.
Andre Penner for Feature Photography Single Image, for his photo of revelers sharing a kiss during the traditional Mud Block carnival party in Paraty, Brazil.
Aaron Favila for Feature Photography Story, for his feature series on a punk music festival in Hangzhou, China.
Mark J. Terrill for Sports Photography Single Image, for his photo of Carlos Alcaraz, of Spain, serving to Jack Draper, of Great Britain, during their semifinals match at the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in Indian Wells, Calif.
Eugene Hoshiko for Sports Photography Story, for his coverage of a Chicago Cubs MLB Japan Series exhibition baseball game against the Yomiuri Giants in Tokyo, Japan.
