Each month The Associated Press honors photographers for outstanding coverage while on assignment.

The winners for the November 2021 AP Photo Contest are Oded Balilty for News Photography Single Image, for his photo of Israeli child Rafael Peled, 8, looking through VR virtual reality goggles as he receives a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine from medical staff at the Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital in Ramat Gan, Israel.

Manu Fernandez for News Photography Story, for his series on the exhumation of thousands of victims of Francisco Franco's brutal regime in Spain from the country's hundreds of mass graves.

Manish Swarup for Feature Photography Single Image, for his photo of a woman bathing her daughter in the Yamuna River, covered by a chemical foam caused by industrial and domestic pollution as the skyline is enveloped in toxic smog, in New Delhi, India.

Ariana Cubillos for Feature Photography Story, for her story on the medical crisis in Venezuela of poor Venezuelan children not having received organ or bone marrow transplants since 2017.

Mark Schiefelbein for Sports Photography Single Image, for his photo of Tobias Mueller of Germany falling while competing with Johannes Aujesky of Austria during the small final in men’s ski cross during the FIS Ski Cross World Cup, a test event for the 2022 Winter Olympics, at the Genting Resort Secret Garden in Zhangjiakou in northern China’s Hebei Province.

Aijaz Rahi for Sports Photography Story, for his coverage of T20 World Cup Cricket in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
