Each month, The Associated Press management honors photographers for outstanding photo coverage while on assignment.

The winners for the April 2015 AP Staff Photo Contest are, in News photography, a series chronicling the devastating earthquake in Nepal and Felipe Dana in Feature photography for “Portraits in Crackland” a series of portraits chronicling people in an open-air crack cocaine market, known as a “cracolandia” or crackland, where users can buy crack, and smoke it in plain sight, day or night, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and in Sports photography no winner.
