Egyptian satirist Sherine Arafa dressed up for halloween as 'Sophia the Robot,' who has recently been declared a citizen of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Sophia Robot, an advanced lifelike humanoid robot, spoke October 25 at a panel on robotics and artificial intelligence at the Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh, shortly before being declared a citizen.
The announcement caused a backlash as many took to social media expressing concerns that Sophia technically had more rights than women in the Kingdom.
Associated Press photojournalist based in Egpyt Nariman El-Mofty documented Arafa as she traveled the streets of Cairo.
