In late June 2015, another incarnation of Greece’s economic crisis began when Greek banks closed on June 29 amid fears that Greece was heading for a euro exit. On July 5th, the Greek people voted ‘No’ against more austerity in exchange for bailout cash in a July 5th referendum. Since the vote however, Greece went on to accept more harsh austerity measures from creditors to save the country from bankruptcy.
In the gallery below, photographers Petros Giannakouris, Daniel Ochoa de Olza, Thanassis Stavrakis, Giannis Papanikos, Petros Karadjias, Emilio Morenatti, and Petr David Josek, cover the latest chapter of the unfolding crisis in Greece.
