Halloween, also called All Hallow’s Eve, has roots in pagan rituals dating back more than 2,000 years, and was traditionally a day for marking the end of the harvest season. The modern holiday is celebrated annually on October 31 by wearing costumes, carving pumpkins and ‘trick or treating’ for candy.
